Book Worm

The day my mom took me to see The Lord of the Rings was the most wonderful time for me, because that is when I really started to really love to read. When I have a hard day at school, it really helps me to relax when I pick up a good book and lie down on my bed and read. I like reading fictional and fantasy novels the best, because they are the most relaxing; and the non- fictional make me feel even more stressed. The fantasy novels work great, because if you want to lose yourself they are great for that. In fantasy novels, you go on amazing adventures, like whisking you off to a far away land; where you might find your prince charming, or you end up on a perilous quest to rescue your best friends sister from the evil Lord Voldemort, or saving a magical realm from an evil Ice Witch and much more. Reading fantasy novels make me feel like I’m apart of the story and not just a statistic.

I have read many books such as; The Hobbit, The Lord of the Rings trilogy, Harry Potter, The Host, and The Chronicles of Narnia, all of these I read after I started to really enjoy reading. My daughter really loves to read also, and right now she is reading my Twilight saga, and she is almost done with the last book of the saga and loves it. She loves to be read to by me and my mom. The books we read to her were The Harry Potter series, The Eragon inheritance cycle and the Host. I’m on my second round of reading The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings trilogy. I’m right now reading The Fellowship of the Ring, and I just read about Frodo getting stabbed on Weathertop from a Ring Wraith, because he had put on the one ring to escape him.

I can’t wait to see what happens to Frodo by the end of the book. I kind of hope he makes it to Rivendale, the home of Elrond and they can heal him.

Welcome everyone who is reading this, my blog is going to be about how i love to read books and what got me to really enjoy reading. I read books when i was a kid, but i only read to know what page or chapter i was on instead of reading to enjoy the story. When i was reading before i didn't read to know what was going on the story, i was reading to see how many pages i could read. I have read many books but there is three different books that are my favorites and they are; The Lord of the Rings trilogy, the Harry Potter series and the twilight series which I haven’t started yet. The Hobbit is by J.R.R. Tolkien which also wrote the Lord of the Rings trilogy, and is one of my favorite authors.

In the next blog i will be giving a brief summary of what the Hobbit and the Lord of the Rings to give you a sense of what is going on in the books. I will also be talking about the difference between the movies of the Lord of the Rings and the books. There is another book that I read that was pretty good called the Host by Stephanie Myers which wrote the Twilight series. I am also reading my daughters owl books by Kathryn Lasky they are pretty good, and in the story the owls are doing the talking and telling the story. Reading books help me to relax after a hard day, and it drains all my worries and cares from the day. I am more into fantasy and fictional novels than non fictional ones.

Books are very imagitive, and they let your mind expand to a variety of possibilities, and they also let your imagination go wild. I found out that reading also helps to expand your mind to a bigger vocabulary. Thanks to that one movie that got me started to really enjoy reading, my love of reading got much bigger. I read a lot of fantasy novels, because they have the most imaginative reading. My daughter really loves to read also, and she’s got a very big imagination
